'Rabbit ate my Parsley... I am eating the rabbit'

 

The author Jeanette Winterson has caused a twitter storm after posting pictures of a rabbit which she had skinned, butchered and cooked in a stew.

 

The backlash was a mixture of anger and support, but it shows that there are still some members of the public that are not educated in where their food comes from nor are they interested in being educated about their food origins. 

 

Whether these angry comments were real or not, matters least, it shows that there is plenty of work to be done to show people that wild game is the most economically friendly meat on the market and there is nothing healthier than killing and butchering it yourself, and using the whole head to tail.

 

It is Jeanette Winterson's opinion, shared by us, that food production should feature higher up on the education list, otherwise we will have thousands more thinking that a rabbit is a pet and not a perfectly viable source of food.
